The Analogue Music Lab is a group of veteran musicians, assembled and led by guitarist and educator Mike Loce (www.mikeloce.com). The trio features the talents of the multi-timbral Paul Davidson (Mindset X, Transit Music Group) on bass and synthesizer; and the versatile drum and technology skills of David Stearns (owner/operator of Guitar Gallery, Amherst). The trio is a jam band, and can provide a range of music backdrops, from relaxed jazz and groove leanings, blues and standards, to more up-tempo stronger material such as space rock. Extended jams are a natural part of the evolution of the music.
Sometimes Analogue may have guest artists featured. The concept of the Music Lab is to enjoy the music of the moment, with little regard to what style it may be. The tinkering in the Lab is the performance. The musicians utilize modern technology to the extent that it develops the creative vision. Common themes may be developed and recapitulated, as in classical music. No two performances of Analogue Music are the same. The audience is always considered a priority and encouraged to partake in the enjoyment of the spontaneous improvisation.
